We mend the carpets other people would tear out.
A burn, a tear, a bleach mark by the skirting board. It feels like the end of the carpet, and it very rarely is. We are carpet repair specialists working across the UK: we repair the damage by hand, match the colour and pile to what's already on your floor, and leave you looking for the spot you used to wince at.
Tell us what happened to the carpet and we will give you an honest answer and a price, at no charge. Most repairs are done in a single visit.

This is what people call us about.
Burns, spills and worn-through patches. It looks final when it happens. It very rarely is. These are the carpet repair jobs we carry out week in, week out across the UK, usually in a single visit and for a fraction of a new carpet.

Burns
Irons, cigarettes, embers and hair straighteners take the fibre away entirely. We rebuild the pile with matching fibre so the burn is gone, not covered up.

Spills & stains
Red wine, nail polish, dye and bleach. Some lift with treatment; where the colour has gone from the fibre we re-dye by hand to your carpet's exact shade.

Tears & patching
Where damage goes right through, we cut it out and set in a matching piece from an offcut or donor area, so the join disappears into the pile.
Nearly every kind of damage a carpet can take.

Carpet burn repair
An iron set down for a second, an ember off the fire, a cigarette that rolled off the ashtray. Burns look permanent because the fibre is gone, not just marked. We lift the scorched tufts away and rebuild the pile with matching fibre, so the surface comes back level and the mark simply isn't there any more.
Commonly- Iron burns on landings and bedrooms
- Cigarette and ash burns
- Candle wax and hot spills
- Coal, ember and log-burner sparks

Tears, holes & carpet patching
Where the damage goes through the carpet, we patch it. That means cutting out the ruined section cleanly and setting in a piece that matches, taken from a cupboard offcut, under a wardrobe, or sourced to match. Done properly, the join disappears into the pattern and the pile direction, and the floor feels whole underfoot again.
Commonly- Holes from furniture, heels and dropped tools
- Tears along doorways and thresholds
- Invisible patching from donor carpet
- Repairs in homes, offices and lettings

Stains & bleach mark repair
Some stains lift with the right treatment. Others, particularly bleach, have taken the colour out of the fibre altogether, and no amount of cleaning will bring it back. Those we re-dye by hand, mixing to your carpet's exact shade and working it into the affected tufts until the patch reads as one continuous colour.
Commonly- Bleach and cleaning-product spots
- Wine, ink, coffee and dye transfer
- Sun-faded patches near windows
- Colour matching and hand re-dyeing

Fraying edges & loose seams
Carpet tends to give way where it's handled most: along the seam in the hallway, at the edge of a stair, around a threshold bar. Left alone it unravels a little further every week. We re-secure the backing, bind the edge and close the seam so it stops travelling and stops catching.
Commonly- Seams opening in halls and corridors
- Fraying at doorways and stair edges
- Unravelling threads and pulled loops
- Re-tufting individual snags

Ripples, waves & lifting
A carpet that has gone wavy hasn't failed, it has relaxed. Heat, humidity and years of foot traffic loosen it from the gripper. We re-stretch it back to tension across the room and re-fix the edges, which takes out the ridges, stops the tripping, and stops the ripples wearing into permanent lines.
Commonly- Waves and ridges across large rooms
- Lifting at gripper rods and edges
- Trip hazards in offices and hallways
- Re-stretching after furniture moves

Pet damage & odours
Dogs dig at doorways and cats work at the same corner until the backing shows. We rebuild the chewed or scratched area with matching fibre, and where accidents have soaked through, we treat the backing and underlay underneath rather than just the surface, because that's where the smell actually lives.
Commonly- Scratched and chewed doorways
- Clawed corners and stair edges
- Odour treatment through to the underlay
- Patching where damage is beyond repair

Water damage
After a leak or a flood, the clock matters more than anything else. Carpet that's dried properly and quickly can often be saved outright. We dry it through, treat what's underneath to stop mould and odour taking hold, and repair or replace only the sections that are genuinely beyond saving.
Commonly- Washing machine and radiator leaks
- Flood and burst-pipe recovery
- Drying, treating and deodorising
- Salvaging what can be kept
A good carpet repair is one you can't find afterwards.
That's the whole job, really. Anyone can close a hole. The craft is in matching the colour, the pile height and the direction the fibres lie, so that light falls across the mend the same way it falls across the rest of the floor.
Drag the handle to see the same piece of carpet before and after.
If a carpet genuinely can't be saved, we'll tell you that on the first visit rather than take your money to find out.

What people say once the mend has settled.
"I'd put a rug over the burn for two years. He was here for an afternoon and now I genuinely can't find where it was. I keep checking."
Sarah M.Didsbury"The seam down our office corridor had been catching people's heels for months. Repaired before lunch, no fuss, no disruption to the floor."
James P.Salford"A bleach spot on the landing, right where you see it from the stairs. They mixed the colour by hand on the spot. You'd never know."
Hannah K.Stretford
A trade that mostly gets learned at someone's elbow.
We've spent decades repairing carpets up and down the UK, and the work hasn't changed much in that time. It's still done kneeling down, with your hands.
What has changed is how quickly people are told to replace things. A fitter looks at a burn and quotes for a whole room, because that's the job they know. We look at the same burn and see an afternoon's work.
Some of what comes through our hands is a treasured wool runner that's been in a family for forty years. Some is the hallway of a rented flat that needs to pass an inspection on Friday. Both get the same attention, because a repair either disappears or it doesn't, and there's no halfway.
Every kind of carpet repair, done by hand, anywhere in the UK.
We are carpet repair specialists working across the whole of the UK, from our Manchester head office. Whatever has happened to the carpet, a burn, a tear, a bleach mark, a ripple, pet or water damage, there is usually a repair that costs a fraction of replacement and is finished in a single visit. Below is a plain guide to the work we do.
Carpet burn repair
Burns take the fibre away, so cleaning cannot fix them. We remove the scorched tufts and rebuild the pile with matching fibre so the mark is gone for good. This covers iron burn carpet repair, cigarette burn carpet repair, candle and wax burns, coal and ember burns, wood burner sparks and hair straightener burns, as well as larger burnt and burned carpet repairs.
Carpet patching & restoration
Where damage goes right through the carpet, we patch it: cutting out the ruined section and setting in a matching piece from an offcut or donor area so the join disappears. Carpet restoration brings tired, worn or matted carpet back to life through deep treatment and pile work, for both residential and commercial carpet repair.
Tears, holes, seams & fraying
Carpets come apart at their weakest points: doorways, thresholds and seams. We handle carpet tear repair, carpet hole repair, carpet seam repair and carpet fraying repair, closing the damage and securing the edges so it holds and stays invisible underfoot.
Stains & bleach mark repair
Some stains lift with the right treatment. Bleach spots have lost their colour entirely and cannot be cleaned out, so we re-dye them by hand to match your carpet's exact shade. This covers carpet stain removal and carpet bleach spot repair.
Ripples, waves & carpet stretching
Over time carpets loosen and lift into ripples and waves that catch the foot. Carpet stretching re-tensions the carpet and refits it flat and tight, removing the trip hazard and the lumps without a full replacement.
Pet & water damage
Pets scratch, chew and stain; leaks and floods soak and mark. We carry out pet damage carpet repair and pet odour removal, and carpet water damage repair that dries, treats and restores the affected area before mould or smell sets in. For sudden damage we also offer emergency carpet repair.

Carpet repair questions people ask before booking.
Far more often than people expect. Burns, tears, holes, bleach marks, fraying edges, ripples, pet damage and water damage are all repairable in most cases. The honest exception is carpet that's worn thin across the whole room, where there's simply no pile left to work with. We'll tell you which one you have when we come and look.
Most repairs are a few hours, and we're usually in and out in one visit. Patching a small area or re-stretching a room is comfortably a same-day job. Larger restorations and water damage can need a second visit, and we'll tell you that up front rather than halfway through.
For damage in one part of a room, almost always, and usually by a wide margin. Replacing means new carpet, underlay, fitting, moving furniture and taking up the old floor. Repairing means one afternoon and no disruption. Where replacement genuinely is the better value, we'll say so.
This is most of the craft. We match colour, texture, pattern and the direction the pile lies, and where we need matching carpet we'll often find it in an offcut in the cupboard or under a wardrobe. On an older, sun-faded carpet an exact match is harder, so we mix and blend by hand until the repair reads as part of the floor.
Then we come back and put it right, at no cost. Every repair is guaranteed on both labour and materials. We're Google Guaranteed and fully insured, and we've been working in the same city for decades, so we're not difficult to find.
Regularly. Offices, hotels, lettings and communal areas take more traffic than any home, so seams open and edges fray far faster. We can work around opening hours and tenancy changeovers, and we're happy to quote across several properties at once.
Tell us about your carpet.
Send a note, or ring and speak to someone who'll actually be doing the work. Either way you'll get an honest answer about whether it's worth repairing, and a price before we start.

Before you replace a carpet, let a carpet repair specialist look at it.
It costs nothing to find out, and most people are surprised by the answer.
